Carbrook, Queensland, Australia (NEWSTABULOUS) – Hazards on the golf course are a pain, especially water hazards, but this water hazard in Queensland, Australia is something else!
The Carbrook Golf Club boasts maybe the most dangerous water hazard in the world of golf…bull sharks!
Supposed to have been washed into the golf course’s lake by a flood in the early 1990s, there appears to be approximately 30 sharks in it, some measuring up to 10 feet long. Check it out:
Once thought to be a myth amongst townsfolk and golfers, this video clearly displays that where there’s smoke, there’s fire…that is clearly a shark!
Embracing the uniqueness of the situation, the golf course holds a monthly “Shark Lake Challenge.” It is described in detail:
“The Sharklake Challenge is an open competition held on the last Wednesday of each month at Carbrook. The course is set up to its full length and the pin positions are set to hard. Players who play better than their handicap receive a Sharklake Challenge Polo Shirt.”
Carbrook Golf Club’s general manager, Scott Wagstaff, feeds the sharks chicken. I guess this way, they don’t have the need for golfer meat!
April 27th marks the next Sharklake Challenge at the course, so if you’re in the area, be sure to register in it!
Well, Rory McIlroy may have felt like he was being chased by sharks at the Masters, but definitely not like this!
