Vancouver Wins; Luongo Trash Talks

The Vancouver Canucks take game #5 (1-0), and the 3-2 series lead, but will have to beat Boston, in Boston if they want to spray each other with sparkling wine while holding the Stanley Cup.

In a game that ended up being a defensive battle and scoreless till the third period, Luongo found a little friendly “trash talking” in him. He made a statement that he would have blocked the goal that Tim let through that gave Vancouver the victory.

The only score of the night came by way of a blocked shot that still found it’s way into the net off of a rebound.

Tim Thomas left the net to stop Bieksa, who go a shot off. The puck rebounded off the backboards giving Lapierre a shot, that Tim recovered and blocked, but it was the little puck that could, and it wouldn’t be stopped.

In earlier comment Luongo said that Timmy is a great goalie, but the Canucks needed to “take advantage of when his is wondering outside of the net”. This is exactly what the Canucks did to get victory in game #5.

Luongo is hot and cold. When he is hot he pitches a shutout, when he is cold, he gives up 12 goals in less than two games and has to be taken out early.

Be that as it may, Luongo moves into the great company of goalies that has multiple shutouts in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Tim Thomas has only given up 6 goals the whole Stanley Cup Finals so far (5 games), and is on pace to break the record for most saves in a single NHL Playoff postseason.

Game #6 will take the Vancouver Canucks back to Boston where they were dang near humiliated the last two games, giving up 12 points, scoring only 1, and losing back to back games.

Tim “The Tank” Thomas is a tempermental princess. He acts like a thug on ice, pouts, and cannot be gracious in defeat. He is going to cost Boston a lot of grief down the road.

Btw, as we Canucks fans figure it, it’s not the number of goals scored but how many wins you have. Our Canucks and us fans roll with the punches. Don’t underestimate the Nucks.

Best of luck Boston. May the best team win. GO CANUCKS!!!
