Kemba Walker isn’t ready to go home and is playing like a player of the year.
Kemba, and his UConn Huskies basketball squad, end the great year of the San Diego State Aztecs.
UConn has been hot since going into their conference tourney and knocking of the #1 seed Pitt Panthers 79-62. They then went on the win the Big East Conference tourney and haven’t lost since.
Tonight they knocked off the #2 seed, San Diego State Aztecs, 74-67 in the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA to get into the Elite 8.
Kemba was beyond hot. He had a NCAA school tourney record, 36 points. Twelve of those points were consecutive for the team. Mr. Kemba Walker is one of the best players in the NCAA.
He was 50% from the 3 point line and 12 of 25 from the field. He also shot 80% from the free throw line.
Jeremy Lamb (UConn Huskies) wasn’t to be forgotten though. He had 24 points and 9 of them came from the 3 point line.
San Diego had 4 guys in double digits with D.J. Gay leading the team in scoring with 16.
He shot 4 of 9 from the 3 point line. The Aztecs were terrible from the free throw line shooting only 46%. They missed 7 valuable point opportunities.
UConn will face the winner of the Duke vs. Arizona game. UConn represented Thursday night as they are 1 of the 2 teams left from the record breaking 11 teams to come in from the Big East conference.
Arizona is up over Duke with 3 minutes left in the game 86-69. Duke just doesn’t have an answer for Derrick Williams.
