Saying Goodbye to Wrestling Legend – ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage

Tampa, Florida, USA (NEWSTABULOUS) – Many of you may remember Randy “Macho Man” Savage from days of old when the WWF was a golden representation of professional wrestling.

You may even remember the way he said his name…”This is ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage, yeah…”

The world is a abuzz about the death of the Macho Man in Tampa, Florida today, May 20, after a heart attack and subsequent car accident.

According to his brother & wrestler, “Leaping” Lanny Poffo, Randall Mario Poffo was confirmed dead, at 58 years of age, to TMZ.

He was driving his Jeep Wrangler, along with his wife in the vehicle, and apparently suffered a heart attack, to be confirmed upon autopsy, which subsequently caused the vehicle to careen into oncoming traffic and ultimately hit a tree.

Randy Savage was rushed to the hospital and was pronounced dead from his injuries later at Largo Medical Center in Largo, Florida. His wife, Lynn, suffered minor injuries.

The couple only just married one year ago, having met much before his star-studded wrestling career as a minor league baseball player.

Previously, Randy was married to his wrestling side-kick, Elizabeth Hulette. This couple divorced in 1992 and unfortunately, Elizabeth overdosed in 2003.

In his World Wrestling Federation career, Randy nabbed the title from both Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, and from Hulk Hogan, on different occasions.

Randy Savage will be sorely missed in the wrestling community, as well as globally, including by myself. He was certainly one of my favorite wrestlers of all-time.

I actually had the honor of meeting him at the Skydome’s Hard Rock Cafe in Toronto, Ontario, Canada when I was 13 years old and when he was in the midst of his shining wrestling career. I was dumbfounded and so excited to meet this legend. I will never forget it!

Rest in Peace “Macho Man”.
