The four time Pro-Bowl wide receiver, Dancing With The Stars standout, and team leader for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Hines Ward, was charged with ‘driving under the influence’ and arrested in Georgia early Saturday morning.
Hines Ward is the former Super Bowl MVP and last season’s Dancing With The Star’s winner, was arrested just outside of Atlanta, Georgia in Decatur on DUI charges. He was released on a $1,300 bond. The paper work has already been turned over to the courts so no further information was available.
There is no information as to whether this was related to the stress of the lockout or if anyone else was in the car with Ward.
Atlanta is Hines Ward’s hometown, and the city where he attended college (University of Georgia – Bulldogs) from 1944-1997. Ward was second only to Herschel Walker in all purpose yards at Georgia, and is currently the longest tenure player for the Pittsburgh Steelers (who won the AFC last year, but lost in the Super Bowl to the Packers).
Ward is the most prolific all around receiver that the Steelers have ever had, and the teams all time leading receiver.
