NY Knicks Get Carmelo Anthony In The Biggest NBA Deal Since LeBron

NY Knicks, who are making a great playoff run, opted to trade many important players to grab Carmelo Anthony in what is the biggest NBA trade since the LeBron James trade last year. Carmelo, publicly stated that he wanted to play there. He is already friends with Amare Stoudemire.

The Knicks, who have wanted another big All Star since not landing LeBron “King James” last year, got there wish with Carmelo Anthony. Carmelo, the 26 year old basketball star who won a national championship as a freshman at Syracuse, lead the Nuggets to the playoffs in each of his 7 years there.

Carmelo, like LeBron, came out of the famous 2003 draft. He went as the 3rd pick to the Nuggets. The 2003 NBA Draft class had stars like: Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, and LeBron James. LeBron was traded last year to the Miami Heat to play along side Mr. Dwyane Wade.

Carmelo will play along side Amare Stoudemire who is 2nd in the league at scoring at 26.1 points per game. They will form the new “Twin Towers”. Carmelo comes in at 6th in the league at scoring averaging 25.2 points per game.

The secret sauce that will make this work is Chauncey Billups, the 6’3 202 lb point guard. No one is talking much about Chauncey, but he is a winner. This year he is averaging 16.5 points per game and 5.3 assist. He will probably see his scoring go down, but his assist go up.

He is a veteran of the game and a quiet leader with great control of the backcourt. He will help to gel this New York Knicks team and bring the best out of everyone.
