NCAA Tourney Highlight; The Upset of The Day

I know you have your faves and upsets mess up your tourney bracket challenges, but you gotta love the close, tight games, that end with an upset. It’s why we watch the game. Everyone, at anytime can be beat.

Yesterday Morehead State knocked off the #4 seed Louisville.

This is the first big upset of the NCAA men’s basketball tourney so far. Morehead State was a #13 seed, but came into the game with the attitude of… hey, we can win this.

There were a lot of miscues by the Louisville Cardinals and they couldn’t handle the early pressure of the Morehead State Eagles.

Morehead starting the game on a 10-0 run. Finally Dieng got a dunk and ended the drought for Louisville.

With 1 minute and 20 seconds left to go in the game Louisville took the lead by 4 and the game looked all, but over.

Then after a missed free throw by Louisville and a time out by Morehead State, they put together the winning plan. With 4.2 seconds left in the game, Demonte Harper hit a 3 a the top of the key to go up by 1 and all, but seal the victory.

Louisville made a last second shot attempt before the buzzer and there was contact, but not enough by the defender to make the foul call and Morehead got the win.

Kenneth Faried was a beast in this game. He played 37 minutes and had 12 points, but he was all over the court and the defender on the final attempt by Louisville.

Faried had 17 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block to go with his 12 points.

Terrance Hill was the Eagle’s leading scorer with 23. He was 5-6 from beyond the 3 point line. To watch highlights of the game you can go to the NCAA True TV highlight page.
