The NBA draft is on Thursday, and the Cleveland Cavaliers are pretty happy about their position on the night.
They will have two first round picks, one at #1, and the other at #4 spot.
This is a huge opportunity for the Cavs to really pick up some more great talent and become a contender in the league next season.
There is a lot of great talent coming out of the draft this year and talent that would be ready to step in and play, (even start) right out of the gate.
The Cavaliers have said that they do intend on using each of those picks. General manager, Chris Grant, says he even knows exactly who he wants to pick, but has to go over the selections with the staff.
The Cavs, who have been putting a lot of emphasis not just on talent, but more on finding players who mesh well with the organization, have found a liking in: Kyrie Irving, Derrick Williams, Enes Kanter (Turkish Center), and Brandon Knight.
Surprisingly, there hasn’t been as much talk about Kemba Walker going above the 5th spot in the draft, even though he lead his team to a national title and was completely unstoppable at guard. He has a lot of experience also on the national stage.
The Cavs would love to take both Williams and Kyrie, but don’t think that the other would be available by the 4th pick.
They would consider moving up to the #2 pick, but this is the highest pick that Minnesota has ever had as a franchise and they are reluctant to give it up.
