The Big 3 and the Miami Heat took a 2-1 lead in the NBA Finals Sunday night, by winning 88-86 in Dallas.
The Mavs kept falling behind by double digits, then finding away to climb back into the game.
They would then fall back behind by double digits, and then climb back into the game again.
They showed a lot of resilience tonight, but they were just out matched talent wise. It’s hard for them to find an answer for Wade, LeBron James, and Bosh.
Wade & LeBron can score at will from anywhere on the court, and they play explosive defense.
In the first quarter the Mavs fell behind 34-22, before coming back to within 6. Then they fell behind 45-31 with 3 minutes to go in the first half. They finished the half by closing the gap to 5.
Miami took another 11 point lead with 10 1/2 minutes to go in the 3 quarter, only to see the Mavs close the gap to 4, four minutes later.
The Mavs finally took the lead with 3:16 seconds left in the 3rd.
It was like a roller-coaster ride all night.
It all came down to Bosh hitting a 16 foot jumper on a pass from James giving the Heat the 88-86 lead.
Nowitzki had a chance off of an inbound pass to get a good look, but couldn’t get the fade away jumper to fall leaving the Mavs just short, and putting a mark in the loss column.
D. Wade was the Championship Circle player of the game, with 29 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block.
L. James played 5 minutes, and had 17 points. His biggest overlooked contribution was in the assist column where he lead the team with 9.
Chalmers (PG) contributed 12 points off the bench in 29 minutes for the Heat.
Dirk Nowitzki was high point man for the game with 34. He also added 11 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 steal, and 1 assist in 42 minutes played.
