The Mavs win game #4 (86-83), and tie the series at 2-2, but the story of the night is what happened to LeBron James?
In 46 minutes of play, LeBron only had 8 points. He played a very non-aggressive game offensively. He did contribute 9 rebounds and 7 assist, but only 8 points from the Mr. James won’t win the championship.
It’s a different side of James that we are not use to seeing, and it’s understandable that he is trying to be a team player, but Miami needs his points.
D. Wade had 32 points and 6 rebounds, and Bosh had 24 points and 6 rebounds.
Now it may seem easy to just blame LeBron for the loss, but it’s a team effort out there. Even though Bosh and Wade had offensive productivity, Miami let Tyson Chandler pick up 16 boards (9 offensive) and 13 points.
The Mavs held the Heat to just 83 points, and had a team effort in scoring with 5 players in double digits and Barea just behind with 8 more. The Heat had just 2 players in double digits (Bosh and Wade).
Dirk had the best game of the night, picking up a double double, with 21 points and 11 rebounds and most importantly the win in front of the Dallas crowd.
According to ESPN, the game brought in a 22% boost in ratings over game #4 in 2006, and was the highest rated program of the night.
The series will stay in Dallas for game #5 on Thursday, then head back to Miami on Sunday for game #6.
This is a huge opportunity to take a 3-2 lead before going back to Miami, where the Heat seem to be unbeatable.
