Maria Sharapova won four straight games to beat Agnieszka Radwanska and advance to her first semifinal at the French Open in 3 years.
Sharapova is the seventh seeded player, and although she has won all three of the other tennis majors, she has yet to get snag her first title at Rolan Garros.

Radwanska, the Russian French Open junior champ 5 years ago, had Sharapova on the ropes by taking the lead in the first set 4-1, but lost the set.
She just wasn’t able to close out the second set, and Sharapova used the momentum that she gained from saving five set points to win the second set.
Sharapova will face #15 Andrea Petkovic. Petkovic beat a Maria Kirilenko in 3 sets to make the quarterfinals against Sharapova.

and the fact that Petkovic has never been past the second round at the French Open (Rolan Garros) doesn’t help.
As it goes with all sports, this is why they play the game. Anything can happen on any day, and (having nothing to lose) Petkovic will be looking to oust Sharapova and advance to her first ever semi-final.
