Madden, the most popular NFL football video game ever, has named Peyton Hillis, the Cleveland Browns running back, to be on the cover for this year’s game.
In just his third year into the league, the 240 pound running back, Hillis, had 1,177 rushing yards, 477 receiving yards, and 13 total touchdowns.
He averaged 4.4 yards per carry, and was very hard to bring down. He was a great fantasy pick for many owners, but won’t sneak under the radar this year.
The 2010-2011 season was Hillis’ first year to take the starting job, and replaced running backs Jerome Harrison & Jamal Lewis.
He had five, 100 yard games, including a beast of a game against the New England Patriots. He had 184 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 36 receiving yards.
Three games later he tore up the home-field against Carolina, where he had 131 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 6 caches for 63 yards.
He became quite the fan favorite with his bruising style of running, and will be loved on the game, as he is a tough character to bring down.
After 13 million votes, Peyton Hillis beat out Vick, who was shooting for his second Madden cover, to become on of the elite group of players to ever get on the cover.
It’s great for the Browns’ franchise to, as he will be on the cover of millions of games that are sure to ship. Congrats to Peyton, and we hope that he has a great season.
