Tuesday night was the first game of the NBA finals in beautiful Miami, and the start of what could be a beautiful thing for the Heat.
The Mavs were on a 5 game road win streak, but heading to Miami for every team this year in the playoffs hasn’t proven to be a great idea.
The Heat were undefeated at home in the playoffs coming into the first game of the NBA Finals, and with the win Tuesday night against the Mavericks (92-84) they move to 9-0 at home in the playoffs.
Just two rebounds off of three triple doubles for the Heat, the big three were simply amazing in their first Finals win together.
D. Wade finished the game with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assist. L. James ended the night with 24 points, 9 rebounds followed closely by Bosh’s 19 points and 9 rebounds.
The Big 3 were just to much for Dirk Nowitzski and the Mavs. Dirk finished the night with 27 points and 8 rebounds, but he didn’t get much help. Marion contributed 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Terry had 12, but that won’t cut it.
If the Mavs don’t get some help on the scoreboard, then they will not only loose the Championship, but they won’t win a game.
The Heat look like a team that has been playing together for a very long time, and if this continues, they will win many many Championships together.
The Mavs will have to play game #2 on Thursday night in Miami again, then head to Dallas for game #3. Dirk and the Mavericks need to pick up a game because they just aren’t a strong enough team to fall behind 2 or 3 games and come back and beat the Heat.
