Even though the NFL is in a “lockout”, the NFL released the new 2011 NFL schedule and is still scheduled to have the NFL draft Thursday the 28th of April.
Talks have resumed between players and the coaches, and if they can come to a resolution, the regular season will begin on Thursday the 8th of September with the Saints at the Packers.
This is good news as it shows promise that we are moving in the right direction.
You will find that this year’s schedule has broadcast on ESPN2 and the NFL owned NFL network.
Roger Goodell said that releasing the schedule at this time of the year: “is an important point where fans start looking forward to the season, and I think there’s every reason for them to do that. We have every intention of playing the full schedule and that’s why we’re releasing it as we normally do”.
Today, after a three day break, the players representatives and representatives of the league, met with a judge to continue talks.
The federal judge is expected to rule very soon on an injunction, from the players, that would end the lockout that was put in place by the owners.
There are scheduled opening NFL games in the NY & Washington areas, on the 10 year anniversary of 9/11.
Washington is scheduled to host a home game against the NY Giants, and the NY Jets will host the Dallas Cowboys.
Monday Night football will be a hott one with back to back games. The Patriots at Miami, and Raiders at Denver.
The 49ers, Ravens, Lions, Packers, Cowboys, and Dolphins get to play on Thanksgiving.
You can view the schedule by team, week, preseason, or Master Schedule.
