Texas track and field has always been known as being one of the best, but new #1 Texas rankings show that 18 of the newest #1 ranked track & field stars in their respective event, also rank in the top 50 in the USA among all high schools.
According to Dyestat (ESPN), out of the newest 20 Texas #1 rankings, there are only two events that Texas doesn’t have a top 50 ranking in.
Three of the newest #1s in Texas are ranked #1 in the USA, three are ranked #2 in the USA, two are ranked #3, and three are ranked #4 in the USA.
The #1 rankings in Texas and the USA are in the Boys 4 x 100m relay (North Shore 40.22), Boys 4 x 200m relay (North Shore 1:24.45), and in the Girls 4 x 200m relay (Garland 1:36.52).
The #2 rankings in Texas and the USA are in the Boys Pole Vault (Reese Watson 17′ 3″), Boys 300m Hurdles (Gregory Coleman 36.34), and in the Boys Triple Jump (Devante Davis 50′ 11.25″).
The #3 rankings in the USA and in Texas are in the Girls 400m (Courtney Okolo 53.68) and in the Girls 200m (Taylor Houston 23.35).
The #4 rankings in Texas and the USA are in Boys Long Jump (Devin Field 24′ 6.25″), the Boys 4x400m relay (Southlake Carroll 3:13.48), and in the Girls 4 x 100m relay (Garland 1:36.52).
There is definitely a lot of good running, jumping, throwing, and leaping going on in Texas, and they are being heard through the nation through their abilities and postings.
